Guiness World Records has just confirmed that this 21-year-old Chihuahua is the oldest living dog in the world. “Oldest dog living- TobyKeith at 21 years and 66 days old, the post states.

TobyKeith is owned by Gisela Shore of the USA who says he is a “sweet, gentle, loving and my little bodyguard.” She feeds him a balanced diet comprising proteins, vegetables, and rice.

The Chihuahua is one of the smallest breeds of dog and is named after the Mexican state of Chihuahua. The breed became famous as it shot into the world of glitz and glamour because of billionaire heiress Paris Hilton’s pet dog.

In India, the average lifespan of large breed dogs such as Great Dane and St Bernard is 8 to 9 years while small ones live up to around 14 to 15 years.
