Video of Taliban tearing Pakistani flag from truck carrying aid for Afghanistan goes viral

A video grab of the Taliban fighters taking the Pakistani flag off the truck

A video of Taliban fighters removing and desecrating the Pakistan flag from a 'friendship' truck which had entered Afghanistan with humanitarian aid reportedly via Torkham Border has gone viral on social media on Tuesday.

With a big white banner saying 'Pak-Afghan Cooperation Forum, Building Afghanistan Together' hanging at its front, the truck was stopped at a check post by the Afghan Border Security force that is controlled by Afghan Taliban.

The 32-second clip which is now being widely circulated on social media shows armed Taliban fighters rushing to the truck as a panicked helper gets down from the vehicle and tries to remove the flag himself.

Carrying guns, more than half a dozen Taliban fighters then manage to remove the flag from the truck amid celebratory 'tear it' and 'God is great' chants.

As the truck helper rushes back to get into the truck, one of the Taliban fighters is seen tearing the Pakistani flag and allowing further movement of the vehicle.

The video has generated anger and indignation from people of Pakistan who are criticising the Imran Khan government for helping Taliban return to power in Afghanistan.
