<strong>India has called for stringent action against terrorism, drug trafficking and cooperation in cyber security among the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).</strong></p>

At an SCO meeting of the Interior Ministers held in the Uzbekistan capital of Tashkent on Thursday, Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai also presented India&#39;s robust response to the Covid-19 pandemic globally under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.<br />

After the meeting, Rai also met a top Interpol official and held meetings with his counterparts from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.<br />
<br />
In his meeting with the International Criminal Police Organization (ICPO) Deputy Secretary General James Stephen, the minister discussed preparations for the upcoming Interpol General Assembly being hosted by India in October.</p>

Rai also discussed bilateral security cooperation, training and capacity building besides regional situation and issues of mutual interest with Tajik Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimzoda.<br />

The MoS then called on Uzbek Interior Minister Pulat Bobojonov with the duo discussing strengthening of security cooperation, including tackling challenges of terrorism and drug trafficking in the region.</p>
