<strong>External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar exchanged views on the global impact of the Ukraine conflict, especially on food and energy security, during a &quot;wide ranging discussion&quot; with the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York on Thursday.</strong></p>

After the Fourth India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue on April 11 in Washington, Jaishankar attended an event at the Howard University along with the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken for India-US education collaboration before arriving in New York to meet the UN chief.<br />

&quot;A wide ranging discussion with UNSG Antonio Guterres. Exchanged views on the global impact of the Ukraine conflict, especially on food and energy security. Implications for developing countries are serious,&quot; tweeted Jaishankar after the meeting.<br />

The External Affairs Minister added that he also spoke to Guterres about the latest developments in respect of Afghanistan and Myanmar.<br />

&quot;Appreciate his interest in working with India to effectively address important contemporary challenges,&quot; he said in another tweet.<br />

On Wednesday, India got elected to four United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) bodies including Commission for Social Development; Committee on NGOs; Commission on Science and Technology for Development while Ambassador Preeti Saran was re-elected to Committee for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.<br />

A day before, India had committed $200,000 to the United Nations&#39; Investigative Team to Promote Accountability for Crimes Committed by Da&#39;esh/ISIL (UNITAD) to provide critical support to its ongoing investigations into crimes committed by the ISIL, including the use and development of chemical weapons.<br />
<br />
The Permanent Representative of India to the UN in New York, Ambassador T S Tirumurti had presented the financial contribution at a meeting held at the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations on Tuesday.</p>
