The Forest Department rescue team was led by R. Arun Kumar, Forest Range Officer, who on reaching the site, used a net to take out the stranded animal out of the well. Following this, the deer was released in the reserve forest area of Ettimadai in Madukkarai forest range.

The Forest Department staff disclosed the deer looked healthy and had no injuries and suspect that it may have lost its way and strayed into human habitation.
