Grit & hard work take constable Babli Kumari to DSP rank

Constable Babli Kumari who worked hard to man age her job, family and also prepare for exams which she cleared to become DSP

Determination, grit and hard work are the key to success and proving this is Babli Kumar who while working as a Constable in Bihar Police and taking care of her family, including a child, has cracked the Bihar Public Service Commission examinations to become Deputy Superintendent of Police.

Currently posted at Begusarai district of Bihar, she will undergo training at the Rajgir Training Centre.

Talking to the media, Kumari said: “I saw many others clearing the examinations and that inspired me and motivated me to push myself.”

She became a constable as she wanted to help her family and her first posting was at Khagaria district. “Being the eldest daughter, I took the responsibility of the family. Hence, I was looking for a government job. In 2015, I was selected for the constable’s post.”

Yet, she felt that she could do more. “I kept trying for another government service. I was successful in clearing the BPSC exam in my third attempt,” she remarked.

Kumari spoke highly of her family and husband, who continuously supported her. “Throughout my preparation for the exams, and while working at the police station and taking care of my child, they stood by me.”

Contrary to many, her husband was different. “He never tried to confine me, rather he motivated and encouraged me to dream. He felt I could achieve much more.”

Asking students to be serious about their education, she said since their guardians are spending so much money on them, they must work hard and deliver good results. She also appealed to guardians and parents to help and urge their daughters and daughters-in-law to study and work.
