Aaj khush to bahot hoge tum…, for Trump has lost

Aaj khush to bahot hoge tum, this famous dialogue by Amitabh Bachchan from his 1975 hit Deewar came to my mind when reaction of Leftists, liberals, and the mainstream media (MSM) dominated by them to Donald Trump’s imminent loss. They are ecstatic. They have more than one reason to be ecstatic: they hate nobody more than they hate the 45th American President who, in their reckoning, is evil personified; they wanted him to lose because in him the essence of America—free speech, capitalism, and hope—resurrected, and they have nothing but scorn for this essence; and also because they know that they have played a key role in denying him a well-deserved second term.

So, they are bahot khush, very happy. The Indian Express had a one-word banner headline—‘Finally.’ That is, finally the demon has been vanquished. The lead story explained what has finally been achieved: “Joseph Robinette Biden of the Democratic Party was elected the 46th President of the United States Saturday setting off a wave of relief and cheer among his supporters in a nation on edge and deeply divided.”

But who brought the nation on edge and divided it deeply? The answer is implicit in the sentence: Trump, for this is the reason for the wave of relief and cheer. And what, pray, is the truth? Exactly the opposite: the anti-Trump alliance of Democrats, MSM, Big Tech, Big Finance, the deep state, New Left-infested academia, and the radical Left divided the country right from day one of his presidency.

As we mentioned in an earlier article, anti-Trump elements created the myth of systemic racism. “Systemic racism—cried everybody in unison in the liberal establishment, which is increasingly becoming putty in the hands of radical Left. Academics, top journalists, and other opinion makers are unquestioningly accepting the notions and theories that Leftists have been peddling about America, indeed about all democracies—the notions and theories that have no resemblance with the reality”.

Further, “There would have been substance to the charge of systemic racism if the cop [Derek Chauvin, a white man, who had killed George Floyd, a black man] accused of murder had been retained citing attenuating circumstances; this hasn’t happened. He is facing trial, charged with serious offences. There would have been systemic racism had he received any support from any Republican or conservative leader; he hasn’t.”

Data also showed lack of systemic bias against blacks. “The racism myth is propagated by the media which tells us that blacks are killed disproportionately… What they don’t tell us is that, according to the official data, ‘Of adults arrested for murder [in 2018], 53.0 per cent were Black or African American, 44.4 percent were White, and 2.6 percent were of other races’.”

Despite incontrovertible data dismissing the myth systemic racism, it has been accepted by MSM as gospel truth. Consequently, MSM became the super-spreader of lies.

In fact, even before Trump’s victory in 2016, they were conspiring to oust him by means fair and foul; impeachment was one such trick, but it failed.

But millions of lies peddled by this unholy alliance 24X7X365 for four years did hurt Trump’s case, though not as much as his enemies had wanted, for more Americans have faith in him that New York Times and CNN pundits are willing to accept.

They are, however, jubilant that Trump is out. The Sunday Telegraph headline said, “It’s time for America to heal”—apparently from the disease Trump gave it. The Sunday Times said, “Sleepy Joe wakes up America”—as if Trump had put it to sleep. “Sleep Joe” is how Trump teases Biden for his (Biden’s) lack of concentration and lucidity. Germany’s big newspaper, Bild, had a photo of Trump with a headline: “Exit without dignity.” No Rightist can have dignity.

The Times Of India headline says, “We did it, Joe.” This was from a video Biden’s running mate Kamala Harris posted in which she said, “We did it, we did it, Joe. You are going to be the next president of the United States.” MSM too could have congratulated Biden in the same words: “We did it, Joe.”

MSM is very happy, bahot khush..
