Delhi records 8 more deaths due to Covid, positivity rate at 14.57%

The national capital on Monday logged 1,227 new Covid-19 cases while another 8 more people died due to the disease, according to data compiled by the city’s health department.

The positivity rate for Covid infections has gone up to a disturbing 14.57 per cent.

Prior to this, the city recorded more than 2,000 cases daily for 12 days in a row.

The national capital had recorded 2,162 Covid-19 cases on Sunday with a positivity rate of 12.64 per cent, and five deaths.

There are currently 7,519 active Covid-19 cases in the city. As many as 5,760 patients are in home isolation, the bulletin said.

Fresh cases on Monday came out of 8,421 COVID-19 tests, the health department said in its latest bulletin. There are now 335 containment zones in the city.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwallast week said that though the cases were on the rise, there was no need to panic as most of the patients showed mild symptoms.
