Warm personal chemistry between Modi and Biden adds lustre to shared vision

Strong on optics, the first  face-to-face meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden showed warm personal chemistry between the two leaders, adding lustre to their shared vision for shaping the global system.</p>
<p>
After responding to the Prime Minister’s Namaste greeting, President Joe Biden stood up and opened his arms to receive Modi. The bonhomie between the two key leaders of the democratic world then permeated into the conversation, where Modi complemented Biden for his long-held vision about the future of Indo-US ties, including the formation of the Quad and the need for joint forays to arrest Climate change. </p>

“I would like to thank @POTUS for the warm welcome. I recall our interactions in 2014 and 2016. That time you had shared your vision for ties between India and the USA. I am glad to see you are working to realise this vision,” the PM tweeted after the meeting.</p>

He added: “Each of the subjects mentioned by @POTUS are crucial for the India-USA friendship. His efforts on COVID-19, mitigating climate change and the Quad are noteworthy”.</p>

In another tweet, PM Modi spotlighted the need for strong people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. He also praised the contribution of the Indian diaspora to US’ advancement. </p>
