Pak-sponsored terrorists plan to strike before anniversary of Art 370 abrogation

With the first anniversary of abrogation of Article 370 and Section 35A approaching, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir are on a high alert. Last year on August 5, the Narendra Modi government had decided to end the special status accorded to the erstwhile state and fully integrate it into the Union of India. This particular move caused a lot of heartburn in the Pakistani establishment, forcing them to push a wave of insurgents into the Indian territory.

As per the inputs received by the security forces, the Pakistani establishment wants to create trouble in the Union Territory by planning a major terrorist attack ahead of the first anniversary of Jammu and Kashmir’s complete integration.

The attacks on Indian territory are being planned in an attempt to create an impression across the world that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is not normal, sources said. This non-state actors-created violence would also be an attempt by the Pakistani Army to impact the goodwill enjoyed by the Narendra Modi government, both inside and outside the country over the issue.

With August 5 just days away the police, paramilitary forces and the army are on a high alert to prevent any attack by the subversive elements. The attempt of the security forces being towards observance of a peaceful Independence Day in the Valley.

The suspected violence on the part of terrorists stems from the fact that Indian security apparatus has been engaged in an unprecedented number of encounters with terrorists over the recent months.

The high numbers of terrorists killed by the security forces over the last few weeks bears testimony to the fact that the Pakistan government is trying to foment trouble in the region. The security forces have successfully thwarted several attacks by separatists and terrorists in the Valley.

Intelligence sources pointed out that there have been over 100 encounters in the erstwhile state, with over 120 terrorists successfully neutralized by the security forces over the last three months. Interestingly, the Indian armed forces engaged in the anti-terror activities have all this while ensured that there is minimal collateral damage.

Every year, the Pakistani Army tries to push in terrorists trained at its camps into India to create trouble. With just a few months to go before the winter, the Pakistani establishment is believed to be trying desperately to push terrorists across the border into Jammu and Kashmir.

However, this year the situation is particularly critical as this was the first summer after the erstwhile state being integrated into the Union. The desperation is palpable in Pakistan Army as it goes all out to fuel extremism in J&K.

Intelligence sources, however, said that the Indian security forces are geared up to deal with any eventuality and will stop the nefarious designs of Pakistan-sponsored terrorists..
