Naidu arrives in Abu Dhabi to pay last respects to late UAE ruler

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu arrived in Abu Dhabi Sunday afternoon to offer condolences on the demise of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, late President of the UAE and the ruler of Abu Dhabi.

Naidu will be representing India as the world leaders converge in Abu Dhabi to pay their last respect to the late ruler and offer their condolences to the UAE leadership.

President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expressed their sadness at the demise of the former President of the UAE who passed away on Friday.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited the UAE Embassy in New Delhi as India observed a day of national mourning on Saturday.

India-UAE ties prospered greatly to the mutual benefit of the people of the two countries under the leadership of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan as he took exceptional care of the large Indian community in UAE, who held him in high esteem.

India said that the two countries will continue to take forward their historic and comprehensive strategic relationship in new and diverse areas.
