Lawrence Bishnoi claims responsibility for latest killing of Sukhdool Singh in Canada, new cycle of violence among pro-Khalistan gangs likely

Sukhdool Sukha (in pic) gunned down in Canada, Lawrence Bishnoi claims responsibility.

A day after featuring in list of 43 gangsters wanted by NIA, gangster Sukhdool Singh alias Sukha, the 33rd on the list, was killed in suspected gang rivalry by unknown gunmen in Canada’s Winnepeg. Popularly known as ‘Sukha Duneke’ was gunned down in similar fashion as slain Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June this year.

Even before Khalistanis could start blaming India for this murder noted gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has claimed responsibility for this murder. Posting a pompous post on Facebook the Lawrence Bishnoi gang said Sukhdool Singh, also known as Sukha Dunuke, had played a major role in the killings of gangsters Gurlal Brar and Vicky Middkhera. The murders were planned by Sukhdool Singh even while he was residing abroad.

Calling Sukhdool Singh a “drug addict”, the gang said he destroyed the lives of many people and that he was ultimately “punished for his sins”. Sukhdool Singh, a member of Davinder Bambiha, also got Sandeep Nangal Ambiya, another gangster, killed, Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed.

It may be noted that diplomatic relations between Canada and India have hit all-time low as Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, after being warned against support to Khalistanis on sidelines of G 20, has accused India of involvement in Nijjar’s murder. The trade talks have been suspended and both countries have sent back each other’s senior Diplomats. After both countries issued cautious travel advisory for each other India has  suspended visa services in Canada citing ‘operational reasons’.

The visa application portal BLS, in a message, conveyed “Due to operational reasons, with effect from 21 September 2023, Indian visa services have been suspended till further notice. Please keep checking BLS website for further updates.” Sources claim that prima facia intelligence agencies believe that Pakistan is playing key role in escalating tension with India.

Meanwhile Sukha was linked with notorious Davinder Bambiha gang. He had fled from India in 2017 with the help of forged documents. He hailed from Moga district of Punjab. Duneke has been aiding, funding and strengthening the Davinder Bambiha gang in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan and off late had been associated with Khalistani activities. He was making calls for extortions and indulged in ‘targeted contract’ killings. Duneke has been orchestrating crimes in Punjab and nearby states through his associates and figures in the most wanted list of criminals in the state.

On March 14 last year, Duneke conspired to kill kabaddi player Sandeep Singh Nangal with the help of his associates during a kabaddi match at Mallian village in Jalandhar. More than 20 criminal cases of murder and other heinous crimes were registered against him in Punjab and nearby states.

Meanwhile in addition to Duneke, 29 gangsters from Punjab region are taking shelter outside India to evade the law. They left India on either Indian passports or through fake-forged travel documents and majority found safe hideouts in Canada owing to its special sympathies with Khalistanis and gangsters.

NIA has sought public support in identifying their Indian assets or those in name of friends and families which will be seized. The accused persons have been involved in killings, extortion, and running and promoting crime syndicates. The NIA had alleged that the accused persons were allegedly involved in conspiring to carry out terror attacks in Delhi and were obtaining funds for the same through smuggling of weapons.
