Recently, while condemning China’s practices, the Trump Administration blocked cotton imports originating from Xinjiang, citing use of forced labour of Uyghur Muslims. Chinese government has been criticised by human rights groups across the globe over its treatment of the Uyghur Muslims, Kazakhs and other minority groups. As per the United Nations, one million Muslims have been held in camps and put to work. In November, Beijing dismissed Pope Francis's criticism of China for its treatment of Muslim Uyghur minority.
