BSNL gives another 10 Gbps global bandwidth to North-East states via Bangladesh for high-speed Internet.

BSNL has commissioned an additional 10 Gbps International Bandwidth for Internet Connectivity at Agartala through Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh on April 21 to make available high quality and high speed internet access to Meghalaya and other North Eastern States of the country, the Union Communications Ministry said today.

The Central government is providing BSNL with 80% of the funding support for a period of three years for this 2x10G International bandwidth.

This enhanced bandwidth will also help in reduction of latency and congestion in Internet Traffic.

The availability of high speed internet access will enable the establishment of software parks and high speed data centres for business purposes in North Eastern States.

It will benefit the citizens in accessing various e-services such as e-governance, e-education, e-health, e-commerce, e-banking, etc. It will also result in an increase of employment and tourism in these states.

BSNL had earlier commissioned one 10G International bandwidth at Agartala on Nov 26, 2021 for North Eastern states.
