It was a touch and go affair for India in the first ODI against the West Indies in Port of Spain on Friday as the final outcome hinged on the last ball of the match.

The West Indies needed five to win or four to take the match to the Super Over. On the final ball, Romario Shepherd was on strike as Siraj attempted a yorker that went past the batter on the leg side. Wicketkeeper Sanju Samson had to also rise to the occasion to stop a difficult ball from speeding to the boundary, taking India to victory.

India had set a 309-run target, while the West Indies required 15 off the last over of the match being bowled by Mohammed Siraj. The pacer conceded 10 runs off the first five balls after which the stage was set for the cliff-hanger.
