Will India and Japan design their own space navigation system?

<strong>The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) have nailed satellite navigation space industry among areas where they can work together.</strong></p>
<p>
The decision was taken during the second 'India-Japan Space Dialogue' which was held in a virtual mode on Tuesday.<br />

While the Indian delegation was co-led by the Joint Secretary of the Disarmament and International Security Affairs in the Ministry of External Affairs along with ISRO Scientific Secretary, the Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Policy Bureau and the Director General of National Space Policy Secretariat represented the Japanese side.<br />
<br />
It was in November 2016 that ISRO and JAXA had signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the then Japanese PM Shinzo Abe in Tokyo. </p>
<p>
The covered areas included space applications, space exploration, space science, R&D and promotion of the space industry.<br />
<br />
The inaugural India-Japan Space Dialogue was held in New Delhi on March 8, 2019, which brought together ministries and agencies related to outer space, including space policies.</p>
