Ever Ace–the world's largest container ship is headed towards the Suez Canal, months after its sister ship Ever Given had gained notoriety for blocking the strategic waterway.

Currently docked at Suffolk, the UK, it is gaining attention from the British media for its massive proportions–400 metres in length and 61.5 metres wide, with a carrying capacity of 23,992 containers. Tall as a skyscraper, it is visible from far.

The ship is owned by the Taiwan-based shipping company Evergreen Marine, which also owns its sister ship–the Ever Given, which ran into the Suez shoreline earlier this year and blocked global shipping for nearly a week. Egypt held the ship for causing losses to the Suez Canal authorities and released it after accepting an undisclosed sum.

After the widely-reported incident, the Suez Canal Authority said that it was working on a multi-billion-dollar project to widen portions of the canal to make it easy for gigantic ships to pass through.
The owners of the Ever Ace and the Ever Given plan to run more similar-sized containers.
