The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre For Advanced Scientific Research in Bengaluru was flooded on Monday as the city was lashed with incessant rain. The library and a research room have also been affected and it is feared that some research papers may have been damaged due to the water logging.

Visuals show staff moving around in the water trying to control the damage. 

Several homes in the city’s low lying areas are also reported to have been flooded and cars parked in the basement of apartments were also submerged in flood water.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have deployed boats for their rescue and relief work in the city.
