Indian Army repels Chinese intrusion in Arunachal Pradesh

Indian and Chinese troops recently engaged in a face-off for a few hours along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Arunachal Pradesh sector. As per government sources, the Indian Army has repelled Chinese intrusion in Arunachal Pradesh. India has been maintaining a strict vigil along the nearly 3,500-km LAC following the standoff in eastern Ladakh last year.


Historic: Bharat Biotech to make WHO-backed GSK malaria vaccine for kids

GlaxoSmithkline (GSK) will be making 15 million annual doses of Mosquirix, the WHO recommended Malaria Vaccine. It is the world's first vaccine against malaria and GSK has entrusted India's Bharat Biotech with its production. GSK will transfer the technology to the Hyderabad-based firm for long-term antigen production. Welcoming the WHO decision, GSK said product transfer, including technology transfer for long-term antigen production to boost supplies is underway with Bharat Biotech of India.


IAF's 89th foundation day today; ceremony to commemorate victory in 1971 war

The Indian Air Force (IAF) will on Friday mark its raising day, which is observed annually on October 8 as IAF Day. The year 2021 marks 89 years since the IAF's foundation, and, as always, celebrations will take place at the Hindon Air Force Station in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad.

The British High Commissioner to India, Alex Ellis, announced that 'Fully vaccinated Indians travelling to the United Kingdom will not be quarantined from October 11. The UK government had earlier announced a 10-day mandatory quarantine for Indian travellers even if jabbed with Covishield – the same vaccine used in the UK. A slew of tit-for-tat move by New Delhi on British travellers saw 10 Downing Street buckling to India's demand.


Anshu Malik Wins Silver, First Indian Women To Reach World Championship Final

Reigning Asian champion, Anshu Malik, became the first Indian women wrestler to reach the World Championship Final. Leading the bout against in the 57kg final against 2016 Olympic champion Helen Marouli 1-0, she was soon upstaged by the American champion. Settling for a silver, Malik became the fifth Indian women to win World Championship medal and is considered the best medal win by an Indian so far.
