PM Modi flags 9 Vande Bharat trains in one go, says ease of travel govt’s top priority

With a focus on ease of travel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that his government is rapidly boosting multimodal connectivity including upgradation and modernisation of the Indian Railways as well as the railway stations. Modi, while launching nine Vande Bharat trains said his government will focus on modernising the railway stations as part of the Ek Bharat Sreshth Bharat ethos. He added that a number of railway stations, which still display the colonial rule will be redone as Amrit Bharat railway stations.

The Vande Bharat trains showcase the new rising India and its economic development.

Work is also on to include new routes to ease logistics and travel time for transporters, he said.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister launched nine Vande Bharat trains connecting religious and tourist destinations across 11 states – Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand and Gujarat.

“Nine Vande Bharat Express trains being launched today will significantly improve connectivity as well as boost tourism across India,” he said on social media X. Modi said that the thrust has been on boosting multimodal connectivity.

Modi also announced that a massive nationwide cleanliness programme will be undertaken on October 1. He urged all citizens to join the cleanliness programme at 10 am.

To commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, he also asked citizens to buy Khadi and handlooms along with other handicraft items to further promote the local scheme.
