PM Modi hails contribution of health workers in reaching historic 100 crore vaccinations milestone

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his monthly Mann Ki Baat address to the nation on Sunday hailed the contribution of health workers in achieving the historic landmark of 100 crore COVID-19 vaccinations in the country. </p>
<p>
“I am well aware of the capabilities of my country, the people of my country. I knew that our healthcare workers would leave no stone unturned to vaccinate countrymen,” PM Modi said.</p>
<p>
The success of our vaccination program shows the capability of India to the world, he added.</p>
<p>
To highlight the contribution of health workers, PM Modi interacted with Poonam Nautiyal a health worker from Uttarakhand who played a major role to ensure the success of the vaccination drive in the hill state for which she had to traverse long distances through difficult terrain on foot. </p>
<p>
Modi said the country is moving ahead with new energy and enthusiasm after crossing the 100 crore Covid vaccine doses milestone. The success shows India’s capability and the strength of ‘sabka prayas’ (collective effort) mantra, he added.</p>
<p>
He also pointed out that the country’s new drone policy is already showing great results and youngsters and the world of start-ups were showing a very interested in this subject.</p>
<p>
Talking about the country’s contribution at the global stage, the PM said that India will play a key role in making our planet a better place. “India has always worked for world peace. This is seen in our contribution to the UN Peacekeeping forces. India is also working to make Yoga and traditional methods of wellness more popular,” he added. </p>

PM Modi also paid respect to Sardar Patel saying, “I bow to the Lauh Purush, the Iron Man” as the country will celebrate his birth anniversary on October 31 as Rashtriya Ekta Divas. He reminded everyone that Sardar Sahib used to say- “We can take our country to loftier heights only through our united efforts. If we don’t have unity amongst ourselves, we will get entangled in ever new calamities”.</p>

PM Modi explained that, “with national unity, the nation has stature and has development. We can learn a lot from the life and thoughts of Sardar Patel. The Information and Broadcasting Ministry of the country has recently published a pictorial biography of Sardar Saheb too.I would want that all our young friends must read this. By this you will get a chance to know of Sardar Sahib in an interesting way,” he added.   </p>
<p>
The PM said next month, India will celebrate the Jayanti of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. His life taught us how to be proud of one's own culture, care for the environment and fight injustice. “I urge the youth to read about him,” he added.</p>
