No infiltration reported along India-China border in last 6 months: Home Ministry

The Center said today that there have been no reports of any infiltration along the India-China border in the last six months.

In a written reply in Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai said, "No infiltration has been reported along Indo-China border during the last six months,” the Minister informed Rajya Sabha in a written reply.

However, Pakistan has attempted infiltration 47-times between February and July, four times in March, 24 times in April, eight in May, and 11 in July, the Minister said.

The question was asked by BJP leader Anil Aggarwal.

On asked what steps have been taken by the government to deal with it, the Minister said, “The government has adopted a a multi-pronged approach to contain cross border infiltration, which inter-alia include multi-tiered deployment along the International border/ Line of Control (LoC), improved intelligence and operational coordination, border fencing, deploying technological solutions and taking pro-active action against infiltrators.”.
