In all-party meeting, PM Modi calls for team effort to showcase India’s G-20 presidency

Calling for team work, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday called for the cooperation of all political parties to make India’s Presidency of the G20 a grand success.

Chairing an all-party meeting, PM Modi stressed that the G20 Presidency belonged to the entire nation. He added that there is global curiosity and attraction towards India today, which provided a unique opportunity to showcase India’s strengths to the entire world.

Prime Minister emphasized the importance of teamwork, and sought the cooperation of all leaders in the organization of various G20 events.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the G20 Presidency would help showcase parts of India beyond the conventional big metros, thus bringing out the uniqueness of each part of our nation.

Highlighting the large number of visitors who would be coming to India during India’s G20 Presidency, Prime Minister took note of the potential for promoting tourism and boosting the local economies of the venues where G20 meetings would be organized.

The political leaders who spoke at the event included former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, J.P. Nadda, Mallikarjun Kharge,  Mamata Banerjee, Naveen Patnaik, Arvind Kejriwal, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Sitaram Yechury, Chandrababu Naidu,  M. K. Stalin, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, Pashupatinath Paras,  Eknath Shinde and K. M. Kader Mohideen.

Earlier PM Modi addressing BJP national office bearers spotlighted that party workers must instill a sense of pride and participation of all Indians in the G20 events. The G20 functions should showcase India’s cultural and traditional strengths. The first G20 Sherpa meeting under India’s presidency started in Rajasthan’s Udaipur on Sunday. This was the first of the 200 such meetings that will take place across 55 cities in India over the next one year. India formally assumed the G20 presidency from Indonesia on December 1.
