HAL delivers Advanced Light Helicopter to Mauritius Police before schedule

Public sector defence undertaking Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has not only handed over an Advanced Light Helicopter to the Government of Mauritius but has done so much ahead of the schedule.

The delivery certificate of the chopper was handed over to A.K. Dip, Commissioner of Mauritius Police Force by HAL’s Helicopter Division General Manager, Nikhil Dwivedi in the presence of other officials of the PSU on Friday.

The execution of this order before schedule will boost the Government’s vision to boost defence exports to friendly foreign countries.

ALH Mk III is a multi-role, multi-mission versatile helicopter in 5.5 tonne category. The chopper has already proven its capability in various utility roles, including numerous lifesaving missions during natural calamities in India and abroad.

The ALH Mk III helicopter with its state-of-the-art equipment will help MPF meet its operational requirements and enhance the force’s efficiency and aerial capabilities.

According to Dip, the chopper will contribute to ensuring territorial integrity and enhancing the speed and effectiveness of the force during critical incidents and disasters.

The PSU will also provide all the necessary technical, logistic, and maintenance support for ALH helicopters in Mauritius.

The contract for ALH was signed in January 2022.
