Goldy Brar declared wanted fugitive in Canada

In what raises the hope for justice in slain singer Sidhu Moosewala killing, the key accused notorious gangsters Satinderjit Singh Brar alias Goldy Brar has been declared a wanted fugitive in Canada. Brar who is currently in Canada is alleged mastermind in the murder of Sidhu Moosewala and has been listed among Canada’s 25 most wanted fugitives in the country. Brar is an affiliate of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang and is now wanted by Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for murder. His name figured in the ‘Bolo (Be on the Lookout) Program’ in an updated list released on Monday. Brar’s life-size cutout has been displayed at Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square along with other fugitives. Wanted for many heinous crimes Brar reached Canada on a student visa and as per the Interpol this 29 year old gangster is facing murder, criminal conspiracy and supply of illegal firearms.

He hit headlines in May last year when he claimed responsibility for orchestrating the brutal shooting of famed singer Moosewala. The Punjab police has so far issued a Red Corner notice against him. The move has made Moosewala’s parents hopeful as his father Balkaur Singh while speaking to Indianarrative.com said, “We have spent each day waiting for my son to get justice. These gangsters hiding aboard have managed to evade action. Now that even Canada has declared him wanted we hope he will be nabbed soon and be befooled as earlier.” The AAP was left red in face in December 2022 when Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann claimed that Goldy Brar had been detained by the police in California and that he would “be brought to India”. Later a purported video of Goldy Brar surfaced in which he claimed that he was not held and nor was he in the US. According to Punjab’s police’s charge sheet in Mansa court which names Brar as key accused, Moosewala was killed to avenge murder of the youth Akali leader Middukhera’s murder.

INTERPOL-Ottawa’s Fugitive Apprehension Support Team (FAST) has added fugitive Satinderjit Singh ‘Goldy’ Brar as the latest addition to the Top 25 list. Brar is the subject of an RCMP investigation into the allegations originating from India. The offences committed in India are very serious in nature and merit the interest of police in Canada. Brar is believed to be in Canada and represents a risk to public safety. He is currently under investigation but is not charged with any criminal offences in Canada. Brar is accused of orchestrating the murders of Rajat Kumar, of Gurlal Singh, and is also suspected of ordering the murder of Indian rapper, singer, songwriter Shubhdeep Singh aka “Sidhu Moose Wala” on May 29, 2022 in India. India obtained an INTERPOL Red Notice for Brar in June 2022,” read official statement by Canadian High Commission New Delhi.
