Gadkari formally inaugurates Delhi-Meerut Expressway, cuts travel time to 45 minutes

<p>
Union Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari formally inaugurated the Delhi-Meerut Expressway on Thursday along with the intelligence traffic system control room.</p>
<p>
The 96 kilometres long DME reduces the travel time between the two cities to just 45 minutes from two-and-a-half hours that it took earlier.</p>
<p>
The minister also launched the Integrated Command Control Room at Dasna in Ghaziabad, which has been set up to keep an eye on activities taking place on the expressway.</p>
<p>
Addressing a gathering the Minister of Road Transport and Highways said the government has constructed highways using the world's latest technology.</p>
