An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale occurred near Amritsar in Punjab early on Monday morning according to the National Center for Seismology.
The National Center for Seismology said that the earthquake occurred at around 3:42 am at a depth of 120 km. The earthquake comes close on the heels of the strong tremors that shook Delhi and its adjoining areas on Wednesday and Saturday.
“Earthquake of Magnitude:4.1, Occurred on 14-11-2022, 03:42:27 IST, Lat: 31.95 & Long: 73.38, Depth: 120 Km, Location: 145km WNW of Amritsar, Punjab, India,” the centre tweeted.
Delhi and neighbouring areas were rocked by two earthquakes with their epicentre in Nepal last week. While the first measuring 9.3 on the Richter scale took place on Nov 9, this was followed by another on Nov 12 with a magnitude of 5.4.
