Delhi turns cold and foggy as winter chill bites

Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of six degrees Celsius on Saturday, the lowest so far during the current winter.

Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of six degrees Celsius on Saturday, the lowest so far during the current winter, according to data compiled by India Meteorological Department.

The minimum temperature was two degrees below the season's average, IMD said.

The maximum temperature is likely to settle around 20 degrees Celsius and shallow fog has been forecast for the day.

The air quality index or AQI for the national capital was measured at 280 at 8 am which comes under the “poor” category.

An AQI between zero and 50 is categorised as good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, and 401 and 500 severe.
