Captured on Camera: Rash scooterist crashes into car in bid to speed past bus

A nasty accident in Karnataka’s Mudbidri town has landed a scooterist in hospital with serious injuries.

CCTV footage from Mudbidri Alva’s College shows the scooterist trying to overtake a schoolbus that is entering the main road.

The bus appears to have obscured his view and he cannot see that a car is also coming on the road from the opposite side.

As a result he rams head on into the car and is flung into the air with the impact. While the smashed scooter lands on the side of the road he falls in the middle. Fortunately, there were no other vehicles on the road at the time and passersby come and pick him up and take him to the side.

The accident has an important lesson for motorists to make sure the road is clear ahead when overtaking a vehicle and not take chances that can prove disastrous.
