At least 13 killed as bus on Indore-Pune route plunges into Narmada river

<p>
At least 13 people died and 15 were rescued when a Maharashtra government bus plunged into the Narmada river at Khalghat in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.</p>

More than 50 people, including women and children, were on board the bus which was travelling from Indore to Pune. Rescue operations are still going on at the site.</p>
<p>
The accident happened at 10 am when the bus swerved to avoid a collision with another vehicle coming from the opposite side. The bus skid and fell directly into the river 25 feet below after crashing past the railing of the bridge. </p>
<p>
A crane was used to pull the bus out of the river.</p>
<p>
The local police are reached the spot and divers are engaged in the rescue. An NDRF team has also reached the spot for relief.</p>
<p>
Indore Commissioner Pawan Kumar Sharma has directed the collectors of Dhar and Khargone to reach the spot.</p>
