Record 1.13 crore vaccines doses administered on Tuesday takes India’s total count to 69.9 crore

In a landmark achievement in India’s COVID-19 inoculation campaign, more than 1.13 crore vaccine doses were administered on Monday taking the country’s total COVID-19 vaccination coverage past the 69.9 crore mark, according to data released by the Health Ministry on Tuesday.

The 1 crore mark of daily vaccination doses has been exceeded three times in the last 11 days reflecting a further acceleration in the inoculation drive against coronavirus.

Meanwhile 31,222 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the country in the last 24 hours while 42,942 patients recovered during this period.

The trend of less than 50,000 daily new cases is being reported for 72 consecutive days now.

The Active Caseload is presently 3,92,864. Active cases now constitute 1.19% of the country's total Positive Cases.

The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. The last 24 hours saw a total of 15,26,056 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 53.31 crore cumulative tests, the health ministry said.

While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, the Weekly Positivity Rate at 2.56% remains less than 3% for the last 74 days now. The Daily Positivity rate has come down to 2.05% and has remained below 3% for the last 8 days and below 5% for 92 consecutive days now.
