South Korean major Hyundai Motors gets a new head office in India

South Korean automobile major Hyundai Motor India is set to open its state-of-the-art head office building in Gurugram. Sources said that the swank building could be inaugurated by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

According to Asian Community News, Seon Seob Kim, managing director & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd HMIL) also met the Haryana CM at his residence in Chandigarh on Thursday. While he has extended a formal invitation to Khattar to inaugurate the newly constructed head office situated on the Delhi Jaipur National Highway in Sector 29, the Chief Minister is yet to confirm.

“He also discussed the company’s upcoming Future Technology Project in Haryana,” the ACN report said.

Before leaving India former South Korean Ambassador to India Shin Bong-kil too paid a visit to Hyundai’s new office.

Shin, who had also led a delegation of South Korean industry honchoes and trade association members that met Khattar last month said that Gurugram is one of India’s foremost business and technology hubs and a preferred investment destination.

Samsung Electronics, POSCO, Doosan Heavy Industries are among the top Korean companies that are already present in Haryana. SD BioSensor, a Korean bio-diagnostic company, which supplied almost 70 per cent of India’s rapid test-kits demand to fight the deteriorating Covid-19 situation in the country also has its manufacturing unit in the state.

South Korea based multinational company Seoul Semiconductor is also keen to set up a research & development (R&D) facility in Haryana. The company is expected to later set up a manufacturing unit in the state too.
