Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Susanta Nanda has shared the video on Twitter with the humorous caption: “Tiny gold smugglers. The question is under which section of IPC they can be booked?”

Ants are tiny creatures but have been documented to be able to carry up to twenty times their own body weight. If a human could lift twenty times their body weight that would be about 4,000 pounds, which would be similar to carrying a small SUV, according to reputed Ant biologist Fred Larabee and paleoanthropologist John Hawks.

Ants are capable of lifting very heavy weights, and there are both anatomical and physiological traits that allow them to do this. Collectively, ants can actually carry even larger objects.

For instance, Azteca ants can kill, disassemble, and eat prey items that are thousands of times their own body weight by working together, according to the two scientists.
