Viral Video: Chennai Customs officials rescue endangered turtle from fishing net in high seas

A heart-warming video showing the Chennai Customs going beyond their duty in the high seas and rescuing a hapless turtle badly entangled in a plastic net has gone viral on social media.</p>

The video footage was posted by Chennai Customs on their Twitter handle. In the video the team is shown pulling out an Olive Ridley turtle from the sea with one of the members cutting a tightly entwined fishing net from the animal’s flippers and neck.</p>
<p>
Subsequently, the turtle was released in the sea.</p>
<p>
The Olive Ridley turtles are listed under the Endangered Species Act.</p>
