Big-hitting Rajasthan Royals batter Yashasvi Jaiswal slammed his way to the fastest ever half-century in IPL history at the Eden Gardens on Thursday in the match vs Kolkata Knight Riders.
The 21-year-old notched up his 50 off a mere 13 balls to break the record jointly held by KL Rahul and Pat Cimmins of a half-century in 14 balls.
Jaiswal smacked 26 runs in the first over off KKR skipper Nitish Rana with a flurry of three fours and two sixes.
Fastest fifties in the IPL
Jaiswal has now amassed more than 530 runs this season, overtaking Ishan Kishan’s (516) record of most runs in an IPL season by an uncapped Indian player. He is second, behind Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis (576 runs), on the list of the top run-scorers this season.
