India’s hard-hitting batsman Suryakumar Yadav smashed four sixes in the first five balls of the last over in the Asia Cup against Hong Kong.
Each of the first three balls of the final over were hit out of the ground. The first two were sliced on the off-side, while the third was smashed straight into the stands over the bowler’s head. The flurry of sixes plundered 26 runs in the last over and took India to 192/2 in 20 overs.
Suryakumar’s unbeaten 68 off 26 balls was embellished with six fours and six sixes.
Hong Kong put up a respectable total of 152-5 in the chase.
Suryakumar’s strike-rate now works out to 177.51 in T20Is, the highest of any batter in history with a cut-off of 500 runs. He is ranked third in the ICC men’s T20I batting rankings.
