Watch: Rohit Sharma visits Balaji temple in Tirupati ahead of Asia Cup ODI series

India cricket captain Rohit Sharma visited the Balaji temple in Tirupati with his family ahead of Asia Cup ODI series scheduled to begin on August 30. The video of the occasion shows Rohit walking with his wife Ritika following him along with their daughter Samaira in her arms.

As fans gather in huge numbers to greet the India captain, policemen clear the way for Rohit to get to his car.

India’s star batters, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been kept out of the national team for the T20 international matches this year and Hardik Pandya has been the captain in the shot format tournaments.

Rohit Sharma has explained why this was the case. “Last year also we did the same thing – the T20 World Cup was there, so we didn’t play one-day cricket. Now also we are doing the same, the ODI World Cup is there, so we are not playing T20s. You can’t play everything and be ready for the World Cup. We decided this two years ago,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.

The Asia Cup tournament is scheduled ahead of the forthcoming World Cup
