Watch: Mitchell Starc takes Virat Kohli by surprise with a brilliant delivery in WTC final

Australia’s pace battery dominated the proceedings with India’s top order failing to rise to the occasion on the second day of the World Test Championship final being played at The Oval in London.

The video shows an angled delivery from fiery pacer Mitchell Starc producing an extra bounce that caught Virat Kohli by surprise. Steve Smith in the slip cordon leaped high in the air to bring off a brilliant catch just when Virat appeared to be settling down.

India’s top four batters including Rohit Sharma (15), Shubman Gill (13), Cheteshwar Pujara (14) and Virat Kohli (14) were back in the dugout with a mere 71 runs on the scoreboard.

Ajinkya Rahane (29 not out) held on with Ravindra Jadeja (48) to put up a fight. At the end of the day India’s score stood at 151-5 with Rahane and KS Bharat at the crease.

Earlier, Australia’s Steve Smith scored his 31st Test century to become the second batter after Travis Head to go past the 100 mark in the innings, taking the team’s total to a massive 469.
