Bomman and Bellie, the two leading protagonists on whom the Oscar-winning documentary “The Elephant Whisperer” is based have now become instantly recognisable public figures.
This became evident when the two on their way to Ooty in a Indigo flight, received a shout-out from the pilot, following all the passengers loudly applauded them. The video of this posted by Supriya Sahu, an Indian Administrative Officer who is the Additional Chief Secretary, Environment, Climate Change and Forests, Government of Tamil Nadu, has gone viral.

The IAS officer has also shared another video in which the couple are shown taking care of a four-month-old elephant calf in Tamil Nadu’s Mudumalai Tiger Reserve.

Meanwhile, Guneet Monga, the producer of the documentary also shared some pictures of the first Press conference in India after winning the Oscar in which the elephant caretakers are seen holding the Oscar statuettes.
