The 60-year-old's collapse midway into the proceedings led to an early lunch to sort out the chaos. The IPL, later through its official account, stated that Edmeades is currently in stable condition.

The IPL mega auction ahead of the 2022 season is being held in Bengaluru and a total of 600 cricket players are in the auction pool.

Ishan Kishan was the most expensive buy so far after Mumbai Indians picked him up for Rs 15.25 crore.

An intense bidding war was witnessed for Deepak Chahar, with 4 teams contesting to get him on board. Finally, CSK won him for Rs 14 crore. The evening session saw IPL teams forking out phenomenal amounts for uncapped players. Shahrukh Khan was sold for Rs 9 crore to Punjab Kings from his base price of a mere Rs 40 lakh. Gujarat Titans also paid Rs 9 crore to buy Rahul Tewatia. Rahul Tripathi was bought for Rs 8.5 crore by Sunrisers Hyderabad.,
