Central Railway’s Shegaon station located in Bhusawal division, Maharashtra will have a new attraction from May 1 as from that day a restaurant on wheels outside the premises will be inaugurated.

Apart from other food items, this particular outlet will serve the travellers and foodies the famous Shegaon Kachori. The pilgrim centre of Shegaon is a favourite attraction of devotees and tourists who throng the temple of the well-known Hindu saint Shree Gajanan Maharaj; Anand Sagar, a spiritual and entertainment centre; and the world-famous Lonar crater or lake located in Buldhana district, where Shegaon is located.

Kachori is a popular snack which is made of gram, flour, peas and aromatic spices. The addition of cumin seeds, coriander powder, and fennel seeds give a distinct aroma to the food item. While kachoris are prepared all over the country, the Shegaon kachori has its own identity. Now visitors to this place can now enjoy the authentic kachori for which it is known at the railway station itself.

The restaurant on wheels concept of Indian Railways involves converting old coaches into air-conditioned restaurants with chairs and tables and of course mouth-watering dishes and snacks.
