Long-lost brothers united thanks to TV channel

Randy Waites and Eddie Waites, the brothers who were united thanks to a television channel

The reunion of the brothers in the US almost seemed like a plot from popular cinema but it is true. California’s Randy Waites watching news on the local TV network discovered his long-lost brother. In a report about snowfall in Lake Tahoe on the TV, Randy saw a person being interviewed who shared his last name.

This set Randy who had grown up without knowing his father, wondering if there was a connection between him and Eddie Waites, the person interviewed. Cambria his daughter confirmed that what he suspected was probably right. She told the media: "I saw [Eddie's] features and he actually looked a lot like my dad in the eyes. I did my research, searched up his name, looked up all I could.”

Soon afterwards the two got in touch over the phone and were at ease immediately. "It just clicked, like we've been friends for 20 years. It's just unbelievable,” remarked Randy.

Eddie was surprised having found his lost brother and it was the family resemblance which convinced him. He said: “It was an instantaneous chill all the way from my head all the way down to my toes. At first I thought, it's not possible. Once I seen a picture of him, I seen my dad. I seen our dad. I knew it was real."

The two met for the first time, last weekend and a picture of theirs was shared online.

For Randy this is really special since he had never met his father. "I've never met my father, never saw a picture of him my entire life. Eddie has been texting me all kinds of different stuff, pictures of my grandfather, and filling in on the family history that I never had on that side."
