Lion-hearted Madhya Pradesh teacher donates Rs.40 lakhs retirement fund to poor students

Large-hearted primary school teacher Vijay Kumar Chansoriya of Madhya Pradesh who donate all his retirement benefits to poor students

He did what very few people would ever think of doing and much less do as he parted all his savings for his old age to poor students. Meet Vijay Kumar Chansoriya, a Government primary school teacher from Madhya Pradesh who donated Rs.40 lakhs received from his provident fund and gratuity to poor students.

Chansoriya made this announcement at a programme organised by his colleagues for his farewell, on the last day of his teaching career. He taught for 39 years in a school located in Khandia in Panna district of the State.

Sharing this news with his colleagues he said: “With the consent of my wife and children, I have decided to donate all my provident fund and gratuity money to the school for poor students. No one can lessen suffering in the world, but we should do whatever good we can.”

While speaking to the media after the event, he said, “I have struggled a lot. I operated a rickshaw and sold milk to complete my studies. I became a teacher in 1983.”

He went on to add: "I came across poor students who lived in deprivation and donated for them. I saw their happiness whenever I helped them. My children are already settled and I decided to donate all my provident fund and gratuity money worth Rs 40 lakh.”

Chansoriya has two sons, both of whom are working. His only daughter is married and settled. His wife Hemlata and daughter Mahima said the entire family had supported his decision.
