To cater to the needs of pilgrim tourists, South Central Railway has launched its first Divya Dakshin Yatra and the 10th Bharat Gaurav train. The first trip was inaugurated from Secunderabad Railway station on Wednesday.
The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation encouraged by the response of passengers have planned this new tourist circuit and called it Divya Dakshin Yatra with Jyotirlinga. It will provide an opportunity to passengers from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, to see important pilgrim tourist centres of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Apart from the Jyotirlinga in Rameshwaram, the train will also cover important pilgrim and tourist places including Tiruvannamalai [Arunachalam], Madurai, Kanyakumari, Trivandrum, Trichy and Thanjavur.
This train allows boarding/de-boarding facility for the passengers at Secunderabad, Kazipet, Warangal and Khammam in Telangana as well as Vijayawada, Tenali, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur and Renigunta in Andhra Pradesh.
The whole trip will be covered over a period of 8 nights/9 days.
The train has both AC and non-AC compartments.
Talking about this train, Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR expressed happiness at the encouraging response received from the passengers for the Bharat Gaurav Tourist train from SCR. He said it provides a great opportunity to pilgrim passengers to visit culturally prominent and historical places without the hassle of planning out an individual itinerary for each centre.
