Driver from Telangana wins Rs.30 crore Dubai lottery, vows to help others

Lady Luck not just smiled but also rewarded Ogula Ajay abundantly as he became richer by Rs.30 crore by winning the jackpot in Dubai lottery – Easy6 grand prize of Emirates Draw.

Hailing from Thungur village in Telangana’s Jagtial district, Ajay works as a driver in a jewellery company in Dubai. He moved to the United Arab Emirates four years ago, and is earning $800 (Rs.66,000) every month.

Sharing his happiness Ajay told the local media: “I was out with my friend when I received the congratulatory email. I thought it was probably a small amount, but when I started reading, the zeroes kept adding up, and I practically lost my mind when I realised the final figure.”

This was the first time he bought the Emirates Draw ticket. When he showed interest in buying the tickets, he followed his employer’s advice, and installed the Emirates Draw mobile app and bought the tickets.

“I purchased two lottery tickets and was surprised when I found the numbers matching the winning six-digit number. The fortune is about `30 crore in Indian currency.”

Apart from taking care of his mother and siblings, Ajay wants to build a house and start a construction company while promising to take care of those in need. “I will continue building my charity trust with this amount. This will help many people get the basic needs in my hometown and neighbouring villages.”
