Tanzania President Samia Suluhu Hassan was accorded a ceremonial welcome as President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi received her at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan on Monday.
Hassan is visiting India at the invitation of President Murmu and is accompanied by various ministers and a large business delegation from Tanzania.
During her stay in New Delhi, the Tanzanian President will also hold a detailed bilateral dialogue with Prime Minister Modi followed by a state banquet hosted by President Murmu in the honour of the visiting dignitary.
Hassan will also participate in a business and investment forum in New Delhi on Tuesday.
A Presidential visit from Tanzania is taking place after a span of over eight years and is expected to further invigorate and strengthen the historic and friendly relations between India and the African nation.
