India sends medical supplies for Kabul’s children hospital

<p>
<strong>India today dispatched humanitarian assistance consisting of medical supplies to Kabul keeping in view the challenging situation in Afghanistan.</strong></p>
<p>
The medicines will be handed over to the representatives of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Kabul and will be administered at the Indira Gandhi Children Hospital in the Afghanistan capital.<br />
<br />
The assistance was sent via the special flight from Kabul to New Delhi which was chartered by the Indian government to evacuate dozens of Indians and Afghans under the 'Operation Devi Shakti' on Friday.</p>

The flight had brought 10 Indians and 94 Afghans, including members of the Afghan minority community. The minority community members also carried with them two Swaroops of Guru Granth Sahib and some ancient Hindu manuscripts.</p>

Under the ongoing operation, a total of 669 people have been evacuated from Afghanistan till now. This comprises 448 Indians and 206 Afghans, which includes members of the Afghan Hindu/Sikh minority community. 565 people including 438 Indians were evacuated from Afghanistan earlier in the month of August.<br />
