Despite being a resource rich region, Balochistan has seen economic deprivation ever since Pakistan occupied this territory illegally in 1948. Countless Baloch leaders have brought dire situation of the region to the fore but Islamabad has systematically stifled any aspiration of the Balochis. Most recently, Imran Khan led government sent their Frontier Corps in an attempt to quell the democratic expression and access to basic rights of life, economy and justice of the Balochis.
