An Air India flight from New York to Delhi with 300 passengers on board made an emergency landing in Stockholm on Tuesday due to an engine snag.
The flight, operated with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, had an oil leak in one of the engines. Following the oil leak, the engine was shut down, and later the flight landed safely in Stockholm.
During the ground inspection, oil was seen leaking from the drain mast of engine two and an inspection is in progress.
All passengers are safe. The airport authorities had rushed a large number of fire engines at the airport as the flight made an emergency landing.
Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) confirmed that the Air India flight New York to Delhi flight reported an oil leak from the engine and was diverted to Sweden’s capital Stockholm.
