Weather office warns of very heavy rain in Karnataka, Kerala

India Meteorological Department has warned of very heavy rainfall over Karnataka and heavy rain in Kerala today.

The weather bulletin issued today also forecasts:

*Isolated heavy rainfall likely over Coastal Karnataka during next 5 days; Kerala on 28th, 29th June & 02nd July, South Interior Karnataka on 28th June & 02nd July.

*West India: Isolated extremely heavy rainfall very likely over Konkan and Gujarat region on 28th June.

*Widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated Heavy to very Heavy rainfall is very likely over Konkan & Goa, Gujarat and Ghat areas of central Maharashtra during the next 5 days.

*East & adjoining Northeast India:

Fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated Heavy to Very Heavy rain very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh during next 5 days.

Isolated heavy rainfall also likely over Jharkhand, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal on 28th and

Bihar during 28th-30th June.

*Active monsoon conditions likely to continue over Northwest, Central & West India

during the next 3 days.
